[Leopard], 'The Paragon of Animals'

Cortnie from StyleLustPages was sweet enough to send me one of her Love, Cortnie creations! I LOVE THIS CLUTCH!  She uses upholstery fabric instead of the typical calf hair and I think it is an excellent and original take on the classic print!  The clutch is so soft, utterly cute and I've gotten loads of compliments on it. 

There's a little inside pocket that comes in quite handy for a cell and a tube of lipstick, and at $45, you really can't go wrong! I've been searching for the perfect animal print clutch for a while and this bag more than satisfies my search.

'If Aught Possess Thee From Me, It Is...[Lovely] Moss'

When I first saw this silk sequin top at JCrew, I fell in love with it - the mossy color, the muted glint - but then I saw the price tag of $149 and became somewhat disenchanted.  However, since JCrew always super marks down their items after a couple of weeks, I readily parted with my money, paying a glorious $41 for it.

I was equally in raptures that I could finally take my jacket off and pose for the camera without freezing!  Oooooh, warm weather is coming!!!!

'What Light Through Yonder [Buildings] Breaks'

The weather in NY was FINALLY nice this weekend and I'm so grateful for the change.  Mind you when I say nice I mean it cleared 40 degrees.  But whatevs, I'll take it!  Threw on this outfit for a Superbowl party - some bits are old (like the leather trench coat) and some bits are new (like the cat blouse) and some bits I got for a super steal (like the gap jeans)!

'A Lean and Hungry Look'

This is me spotting something fabulous across the street in a store window.  But I must be all frugality in the next couple of months (I want a new camera, want to save more and want to pay off some bills). So to combat my withdrawel symptoms, I've come up with a couple of ways to get my shopping fix:

Tag along with anyone who is prone to swipe a credit card.  Just the sight alone of the cashier folding the clothes, swathing it in tissue paper and placing it in the new crisp bag will/should/has to be enough,

Go thrifting more,

Utilize Forever 21 more,

Shop Etsy vintage shops, and

eBay it up!

How sad it is to see the once lush leaves tumble from the trees, strewn upon the ground dried and dead and brittle beneath my feet.  Oh harsh winter wind!  Oh brutal disparaging cold which makes mere mortals seek the fleeting comfort of warmth and wild beasts to slumber till Spring arises again.

 

Tip from a shopahaulic:

Ladies, don't forget to utilize sites such as gilt.com. ruelala.com, bluefly.com and yoox.com to name a few.  These online shops are invaluable when it comes to buying high-end desinger brands for a fraction of the cost.  You have to be super fast though with gilt and ruelala becasue the items go on sale at a certain time and sell out fast!
