When I first saw this silk sequin top at JCrew, I fell in love with it - the mossy color, the muted glint - but then I saw the price tag of $149 and became somewhat disenchanted.  However, since JCrew always super marks down their items after a couple of weeks, I readily parted with my money, paying a glorious $41 for it.

I was equally in raptures that I could finally take my jacket off and pose for the camera without freezing!  Oooooh, warm weather is coming!!!!

'Black White, Foul Fair'

I really try to stay away from black and white outfits solely because I wore the combo to death (along with all shades of grey) back in the day.  Now, I really try to embrace colors but every now and then, I dapple in a little black and white.  Oh, and I threw in the scarf for a little bit of punch.

 

This laugh is pretty much what I did when I got off the plane from heat and humidity of Miami and was hit with a blast of cold NY wind!  Couldn't freakin believe it!!  At the risk of sounding redundant, CAN WINTER PULEASE GO AWAY!!!

'Was Ever Woman in This Humour Woo'd?'

Very seldom do I stand in front of my closet and absolutely hate everything in there, but the other day such a mood was upon me. Flipping through the hangers again and again, I finally found this silk, fuchsia number semi buried (can't wait to move out of my 2x4 apartment into a bigger place with a walk-in closet in the bedroom!) Anyhoo...I bought this dress for my birthday last year, so since I was lacking in inspiration, I threw it on and decided to keep everything else minimal. I ended up loving the outcome. Sometimes, simple is best!

How often are you guys afflicted with the 'I HATE EVERYTHING IN MY CLOSET' blues?

Finding this dress made me realize the double 3 birthday is coming up next month, so now I'm on a quest for the perfect birthday dress.  I'm thinking something long and sleek with some sort of peek-a-boo element!

'What's Gone and What's Past Help'

As I confessed earlier, I have failed miserably at my New Year's resolution of not spending.  Riddled with guilt, I decided then to amend my first idea, and give myself a certain budget within the month to spend on clothes.  That has since gone out the window (especially since I have used up July's budget).  Maybe next year.  What can I say, I am past help.
Anyhoo, as a slight pat on my shoulder, nothing in this post is new (except for the thigh highs but those were only 7 bucks and that really doesn't count).  I've had the dress, coat, and boots for a couple of years so at least I do keep the things I buy and get good mileage out of my money, right.  Points scored.

'What Light Through Yonder [Buildings] Breaks'

The weather in NY was FINALLY nice this weekend and I'm so grateful for the change.  Mind you when I say nice I mean it cleared 40 degrees.  But whatevs, I'll take it!  Threw on this outfit for a Superbowl party - some bits are old (like the leather trench coat) and some bits are new (like the cat blouse) and some bits I got for a super steal (like the gap jeans)!
