'O, I Am Fortune's Fool'

Loving this top from H&M! It's so retro, so glam and also loving that it's reversible (I can wear the zipper part front or back)!  I'm seeing a Mad Man-esque shoot coming soon with this top, this wool pencil skirt, red red lips, pin-curled hair, pearls galore...yup! Stay tuned!

So anyway, happened to be in H&M on a lunch hour and was just browsing the racks when my eye caught this top dangling by its lonesome on a rack. Grabbed it, and thankfully it was my size because the salesgirl said it was the very last one.  A total sign to purchase it!

Wore it this time around with my fav Whit skirt (skirt also worn here)

'Enjoy The Honey-Heavy Dew of [Summer]'

This was THE first hot day in NYC (there'd better be more as it has now resorted back to being cold and dreary).  I actually didn't mind the dewiness on my face, and I'm not mortified to post it! I'll take sweat over frostbite any day!!

This is my second favorite skirt.  I've posted this color here and here, and I'm so glad I found this navy one at a sample sale (since I couldn't find it anywhere else).  Which color do you guys like the best?

I've noticed I've been reaching for these grey Calvin's at least twice a week.  I'm so glad I kept them as I had ordered the black pair but Bloomies sent me these by accident.  Hey, marked down from $325 and getting them for $117 sort of kept them in my closet.  And glad I am of it.  They go with absolutely everything! I'm still lusting after the black pair, either these or these will do, but I'd have to get them for close to $100 to justify the purchase.

I positively LOVE this sweater! I first saw it about 6 months ago on a blogger but couldn't find it anywhere. Then about 3 months ago, I happened into H&M, and there it was hanging on the rack, fully restocked!  Oh, thank you H&M!

I've seen a couple of you ladies wearing this silver coated sweater from H&M.  How much do you love it?

I'd love to thank Shirin of Miss-Chief (isn't that a great blog name...we all have created mischief in our bank accounts, now haven't we?!) for awarding my little blog the One Lovely Blog award.  Her style is classic, effortless and chic so check her out and show some love!

'The Winter of Our Discontent'

I've been dying to do a laundry shoot and these vintageish machines are really cool.

If ever I could be in love with a garment, it would be this skirt! I wore it first here because I just couldn't wait for the winter months to debut it. It's a lovely wool faille that can be worn in any season (which, of course, was my justification for spending close to $300 for it). Ah well.

A few months ago, I got a WHIT sample-sale email, and of course, hanging on the racks was this skirt marked half off. Pissed was I? You bet! I rarely get shafted on price. However, there was the blue version of the skirt (with grey belt - to be blogged shortly), so I slyly purchased it, threw my nose in the air as if I got one over on them and marched out proud as punch!

Do you ladies have a favorite item in your closet that you have in multiple colors?

I hope this to be one of the last posts I do indoors because of the freaking cold, clad in tights and millions of undergarments!  GOODBYE WINTER!  You will not be missed!

I'm off ladies and gents for some rest and relaxation and for some much needed sun!  Hope to return with something cool to giveaway!

'What a Piece of Work is' This Skirt

I saw this skirt in Lucky Magazine and instantly fell in love with it...had to have it no matter the cost! And as such, I'll never tell how much I paid for it. However, I will say that after an extensive search for it in this color (rust), I finally found it at a cool boutique called Kaight. It was the last one in my size (an 8...ha...can you believe it? I don't know who the fit model was but geesh).

And now for a little secret which enabled me to get the skirt at a 10% discount: As I tried on sizes 2, 4, 6 (finally landing on the 8), admired and twirled myself about, I put my hands in the pockets and (cue heavenly music), I found a massive tear. Whoohoo!!!! Instant discount ladies. If you ever come across a defected garment that you can easily fix, do ask for a discount.

(But a word of caution, find out the store's policy on these types of discounts. Sometimes you can't return the item after they give you the defect discount).

I LOVE THIS SKIRT!!!

And the best part, even though it's wool and has a nice weight to it, I can wear it all year round!

(Sorry for the slightly blurry pictures. Am saving up for my real camera. BTW, the tank top is dotted with tiny hearts)
