'What, My Dear [Suede Skirt], Are You Yet Living?'

I've had this pink suede skirt for a little over 10 years now, and I've yet to put it in the cleaners. Why? I'm terrified that if I do, it won't come back the same (i.e., significantly lighter in color). I've had bad experiences with dry cleaning and leather/suede and have had to get rid of the piece because it was simply ruined. And so I keep this skirt in my closet, under plastic, pulling it out a few times a year. I'll just let it age gracefully...

Not a huge sock and shoe kinda gal, but when I saw these bold polka cuties in Lucky Mag., I just had to have them on my footsies.

What do you think of socks and shoes? Infantile or sweetly mature?

'The Green-Eyed Monster'

As I previously mentioned in my Fall/Winter '11/'12 Look List (here), I'm into everything monotone at the moment! As soon as I brought this Anthropologie blouse home (after it FINALLY went on sale..thought I would have to cave and pay full price for it), my eye went right straight to this JCrew pencil skirt (still hanging outside of my closet for me to more easily ogle at) and I knew they'd be lovers!

Threw on my Jeffrey Campbell Grayson's (still available here and in this color here) for some added fun, (incidentally, I think this is the first time these babies have been blogged in action!) and also this adorable vintage turn-lock bag I won from Jody-Ann of Confessions of a Purse-a-holic a while back.

'A [Dress] Fit For the Gods'

I watched and watched this beauty at Anthropologie for months.  When I first tried it on the zipper broke, and I slightly panicked for fear of having to have the attendant come and help me out of it, but after 10 minutes, I finally manged to wriggle out of it.

That put me off. For $358, the zipper should not be so cheap.  Fast forward a couple of months later, and a couple of hundred dollars less, the dress is now my own. Of course I had to get the zipper fixed because all the dresses on the rack had broken zippers, so I just negotiated a better price, threw it in the cleaners and for $20 the zipper is new again.  SCORE!

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Mara Hoffman via Anthropologie
            Orig.: $358.00
            Paid: $130.00
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Necklaces: Juicy Couture, A Peace Treaty
