I refuse to comment anymore on this gawd awful weather NYC/NJ has been having. I expected by now for some sun and continuous 72 degree days. Just look at the overcast sky...'nough said!
I peeled myself off the couch and decided to make the best of it and this outfit is what I came up with. Love the punchy orange color of the top and that I got it for only 10 bucks at H&M! I paired it with my striped maxi, one of my favorite pairs of All Saints boots and with Mac So Chaud lipstick.
Love the reeds in this shot although I swear there was something in there!
What I'm Wearing:
Sweater: H&M
Striped Skirt: Forever21
Boots: All Saints Suede Stud Military
Necklace: Jewel Mint
Rings: Mango, Free People shark tooth, street vendor
Feather Earrings: Urban Outfitters
And now, I really require your opinion: To Lita or not to Lita? That is the question!
What do you ladies think about these shoes? Should I jump on the bandwagon? I was for a while hating these things since EVERYONE and their mom seemed to have a pair.
So, as I was browsing in a Free People store on a lunch hour, there they were perched on a shelf. I figured, what the hells, let me just try them on and see what the hub-bub is all about.
Well, they didn't look clownish on my feet at all (rather a bit adorable) AND THEY ARE COMFY AS HELL (however comfy that is). Seriously! I can walk in them without tipping over!
These olive babies caught my eye on Sole Struck and of course they are sold out in my size and may come back in 3 months. I think I may just do it.
Should I or shouldn't I?
And a big 'thank you' to Style & Poise for giving me the Adorable Blog Award! Check out her excellent use of color and pattens! She never has a grey day!!

Love the red, white 'n' blue. Great location too. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteJust one more comment regarding the weather...I have officially given up. Rain until Saturday, gloomy skies, and frizzy hair. Terrible! On another note, this outfit is fantastic! Looking great as always!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
-Ellie
The shoes are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI would wear that outfit...right now! Cool necklace too. I'd say that because everyone does eem to have them, you may be able to find a similar aesthetic that is more unique. But, JC is my favorite shoes designer, so I know it's quite the dilemma. I'd really like the wine colored velvet ones myself.
ReplyDeleteVery nice blog and great look, I love combination red with skirt :) I am follow Your blog :) Check my blog thanks :)

ReplyDeletehttp://mystylebyjoandy.blogspot.com
stipes and the red are beyond perfect together! ANd don't even get me started on the perfection of those boots! xo
ReplyDeleteGreat sparks of color to try and brighten up our days in this horrid weather that doesn't seem to want to mimic LA's Sunny 75 weather!
ReplyDeleteI have felt the same abou tthe litas expecially since I have thin legs and a size 9! foot! If you like them and they don't kill your feet I say get them no point in refusing to support what seems to be brilliance.
Dearest,

I love your crop sweater! great color and style. Ok, so litas.. I have mixed feelings. they look hot as hell, but like you said.. EVERYONE has them. But no one in my city has them, so only fashion bloggers really have them, not everyone, everyone. but all fashion bloggers do. haha. anyways They are really great and beautiful and everytime I see them I get really happy and think about how I love clothes and shoes and accessories much more than everything else in life.. I think if you want you should go for it, but soon there will be another "cooler" shoe that comes out, so you could wait and get that new one. Sorry this was such a long response! haha Have a good week :)
ReplyDeletehttp://iflyastarship.blogspot.com/
also, I have always wondered how litas are in the comfort department, so thanks for clearing that up! sounds nice :)
ReplyDeletegreat outfit. the orange with the stripes is perfect. and loving the accessories, including those cute shoes.

I adore you outfit, and the setting is perfect and makes it look wild.
ReplyDeleteThe touch of the bangles and necklace is just fabulous.
About the Litas I would say no, for the simple reason that: who wants to be one more in a crowd of LITAS and macarrons??? Not me.
Still if they make you feel happy...what the heck!!
I forgot to say how much I love your boots , and the way you wear them
ReplyDeleteXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

everybody loves Lita, i keep watching on ebay but could not bid , they go too high, im honestly not gonna take it, but if you can afford them, why not?..better take them while it's hot on the trend..your outfit on the stripes maxi is perfect with those gorgeous jewelries!
ReplyDeletep.s about the baby thing, at first and all the while i was pregnant, i thought they just come out while i sleep since i chose the aneasthetic method, i didn't know that was very painful still and that i had to be awake! so i ended to have an emergency C-sec instead...this would be the last....after all i knew how it works.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about your outfit. You look great as always.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love Lita boots. I want one pair as well as sson as I get my credit card empty :)
http://www.denizsaatcioglu.blogspot.com
I love the necklace and I agree I am not commenting on the weather anymore either...hopefully it will mean it will have to change?
ReplyDeletesigh....

ReplyDeleteTotally get those shoes!!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.aflatteringtale.com
right?! your "to lita or not to lita" is the eternal question. I had two pairs (black and pink sparkly... obvi) in my shopping cart on like solestruck or something a while back and just couldn't bring myself to do it! it sounds like wearing is believing, and we already know they are endlessly style-able so I say yes to LITA! besides, they almost cultural shoe icons, don't you want to look back twenty years from now and tell your kids (or whoever) "yup, I had those shoes"? maybe I'm the only one who thinks like that, though. also, this outfit is great! I love the lipstick with the sweater and neutral striped maxi skirt. also, those boots are perfection!
ReplyDeletethe color of that sweater is fantastic - perfect to combat the grey weather we've been having! (i feel your pain - i mean, it's may already! c'mon mother nature!)
ReplyDeletei say LITA! they're so cool, although i haven't given in yet either..

ReplyDeleteYou should take pics with the LITA, every person I meet always give me that snide comment. Oh you're a blogger so you must be wearing JC. But seriously if you like & they look hot on you grab it! I was looking into these as well, but I have never tried them on.

What can I say, I never ever thought I'd be one of the lita freaks, for the exact same reason as the one you brought up... THEY'RE ON FRICKIN EVERYONE'S FEET! But... I tried them on at a store and I could NOT resist. I just couldn't. They looked so amazing, were 100% comfortable, I felt so tall and... yeah, well. I have two pairs and am trying really hard not to buy two more from Solestruck at this very minute. They just make every single outfit look so much better!!!
ReplyDeletePS. You look AWESOME. DS.
